Even though I have given these guys a large sum of money this summer for work done on my 07 X3 BMW they still rate 5 stars. Last week my X3 started getting hot and I had it towed to Auto Spec garage. Without asking for an estimate I told Mike to take care of it. When he called after the initial diagnosis he was more than apologetic about the cost. I told him it wasn't his fault that parts break. When the initial work was complete he informed me that the cooling fan was not working and without asking he ordered the part and had my car back on the road in 3 days. If you can find a better shop in the Austin area they must be the best kept secret in Texas because Auto Spec here in Round Rock is the best shop I have ever taken any of my cars to and as long as I'm alive they will be the only ones to turn a wrench on anything I own.

I'm really torn about this place as their customer service really seems to vary on who you get working the counter. My mom started using this place about 6 years ago when she moved into Sun City Georgetown and she generally reports having a positive experience here. First thing in morning, I call and schedule an appointment at 430 to get her state inspection completed. Yet upon our arrival, the gentleman working the counter (dressed in a blue fishing shirt and cammo ball cap) can't find it--even though we spelled the last name multiple times. Finally he finds it in the computer but says our appointment isn't until tomorrow. Well, that sets my mom off into a tirade about how she's spent a lot of money on repairs over the years and expects better customer service. I tell her let's just go to Jiffy Lube, but then the guys wants to argue with a 79 year old for a while . When my mom finally asks for the manager, the manager simply says, "We have 3 or 4 state inspection techs inside. Pull one of them off and get this done". About 15 minutes later, the car passed and we're on our way out. On one hand, the manger quickly resolved the issue to our satisfaction, but the gentleman working the counter really needs lesson in customer service.

These guys are great! My 2nd time here was as good as my first. Even when I didn't make an appointment they are getting me in with a little wait...but that's ok because I didn't make an appointment.

I must say that trusting a mechanic to work on your car like they are a family member is one of the most elusive quests we can be on. In my opinion, the folks at Automotive Specialist go beyond the norm every time. Your car will always be fixed properly in the time promised and if a problem arises you will be informed right away of how they feel is the best way to go. Ray and Mike really care about giving the best service possible. I am a customer for life! Thanks guys for bringing my little red Tacoma back to life.

I recently purchased an '02 Miata that had a few more issues than I could handle myself, and after asking around on enthusiast forums, I chose Auto-Spec based on their reputation specifically for fixing Miatas. I was not disappointed. The service I received was totally worth the drive up to Round Rock from Central Austin. They even have a key drop, so I was able to drop it off in the evening! What really sold me was the amount of communication Ray provided. He was completely up front about what their diagnosis uncovered, and what other potential issues might come up (and how much they would cost) once they started working. I seem to have lucked out with a best-case scenario, but the level of communication and honesty would warrant a 5-star review either way.

Becarful of fake positive reviews, there seems to be many for this company, as they change names Took my Honda civic, they tried to overcharge for my oil pan, and when I quoted a price $100 less at Oreilly, the shop called them for me, and said it would take 3 weeks for the part, and when I found the same part at autozone, which would come next day, they said, they won't put autozone parts in my car, and told me to take my keys back.. Now, if they don't support anything besides OEM parts for their warranty, why entertain the idea of oreilly auto parts, and then change their mind when I found it in autozone for the same part. .... Apparently, when you get caught lying 2x, there is no going back. I would stay away! Please, if your an Triple AAA member, you can find better places then these people. They gave me an estimate of damages, without even taking the car into the garage, keep in mind, my car had damage underneath it. that's how bad these people are. I had Tripple AAA to come back and take my care to another shop.

There are no "fake reviews" , if you have a problem with our reviews report it to google. Your damaged car was towed to our shop because we are one of the very few AAA shops in Round Rock. You were asked to leave because of your erratic behavior. There was no estimate done. No one "overcharged" you. Your car never rolled into my shop. No service was performed and no charge was accessed. No one lied to you. We simple asked you to take your business elsewhere.

John Long, Jeremiah and the Auto Spec team are my go-to folks for working on my Spec Miata race car. You can see pictures of the car on my profile. Their knowledge goes waaaaayyyy beyond just fixing cars. They do full race setups for me, brakes, motor work, all of it. Solid people and really knowledgeable and honest team.

As an owner of a Mazda Miata, I entrust all of the work done on it to John Long and his team at Automotive Specialist in Round Rock. The fact that John owns a Miata of his own reassures me that he truly understands the vehicle and the nuances of repairing one. His team, led by Ray and Mike, are great about getting the work scheduled and done. I have rarely had to wait more than a day to have work completed. Automotive Specialist is also one of the few repair shops in the area that warranty their work for 2 years (not the standard 6 months to a year) so they really stand behind the work that they do. To date, I have had my brakes, AC, clutch and convertible top done at Automotive specialist and have absolutely no complaints. Some things in life are an absolute must and a great mechanic is one of those. I have found mine in Automotive Specialist.

Thank You Francis, We appreciate your business. Your definitely in the right place for your Miata.
