This is a great place. I normally work on my family vehicles but just don't have the time to anymore. I refer them now to JC Auto Specs and they have always been treated great. Thanks!

These guys are the best--professional, fair, and unbelievably nice. They recommended Eagle Transmission which has been an equally great experience too. 4th year as a customer.

I took my Honda Element to the Honda dealership for a service and afterwards there was a humming noise while I was driving. Three mechanics and one more dealership later the problem was not solved. I took my car to these folks because of the great reviews on Yelp and elsewhere. When I walked through the door the place was gorgeous. It was like a Spa so I thought I had the wrong place. Their free coffee while you wait is amazingly good too. The person who helped me was an older man and he was so great listening to what I had to say and REALLY hearing me instead of the usual dismissive attitude you get at garages. Later that day they let me know they had checked it out and it was my tires and they had fixed the problem and they didn't charge me anything even though I asked more than once to pay because I really thought they deserved to get paid for it. The only garage I will be taking my car to.

So I took my 89 camry to them after Lambs on 620 screwed me. They fixed it right , period. They had it running and that is exactly why I brought it to them. I was actually considering buying a used car but kept fighting it since this was clearly a cheaper option than trying to sell it. Good thing too. I am a happy camper and I know that I didn't get the shaft. Should of taken it here first. Will do so from now on.

I've been using these guys for years, and let me tell you, they are HONEST! I always used to try not to come across as clueless when dealing with mechanics, because I was afraid of mechanics who would take advantage of me if they realized that I wouldn't know the difference. I'm sure it happened over the years, but I keep going back here because they're just dead honest, and it doesn't hurt that they're nice. Also, if they're not comfortable doing a repair themselves, because of something unique or bizarre, they'll tell you; which has only happened once in 5 years. They always give me all the information to make an informed decision, and are patient enough to explain things repeatedly until I'm comfortable with my understanding of something. These folks are THE BEST!

All of our cars are serviced at this honest, professional, and fairly priced Automotive Specialist repair shop. We've been returning for over 7 years and they can not be beat. They rock because: 1# They've saved us hundreds by pointing out items that we were ready to pay out of pocket for but were actually still under warranty. 2# More savings by repairing parts efficiently rather than replacing them. 3# Always the best prices. 4# Always flexible in presenting your options prior to work being done. We trust them because they have earned it.

Okay, this place rocks! For a few reasons! 1) I'm a woman, no secrets shops try to swindle us from time to time. I was soooo, impressed by theses guys. They talked to me like a human, explained the details, and were spot on with the estimate. I have used the twice, and was EVEN more impressed the last time. Not too mention there is unlimited coffee while you wait! It makes me wanna get my oil changed every months, just for coffee!!! 2) Shuttle. I live in Hutto, and they gave me a ride back home, AND then picked me back up when my Vehicle was ready. I don't know of any other shops that would do that for me. 3) Clean! This shop was very clean. The floors, tables, and Bathroom! If they take cleanliness this important, you can only imagine how well the treat the vehicles.... -Judy!

I gave up on crappy Wal-mart and Jiffy Lube oil changes long ago. Now I'm not dissing specialized trades, but doing a fast and cheap job chaning the oil in a vehicle pretty much means the technician is far from understanding how the entire vehicle works as a system in my opinion. I now only do my oil changes in mechanic shops where the technicians are certified and honest. So how do you judge honesty? Other reviews is what gives me a good indicator. And just checkout what others are saying about this place! It's totally true! The staff at Automotive Specialist are courteous, knowledgeable and didn't offer to "flush my radiator" or any other +$30 service that I just happen to need while getting my routine oil change. You just gotta like someone who does business like that. So if you are looking for an automotive service that just puts off a good vibe. This is totally it.

I've been here for an inspection and an oil change on my fairly new truck, so I can't speak for anything major being done, just basic car stuff. I think this is a really well maintained shop and I feel great bringing my truck here. The staff answers any and all my 'girl' questions and they are never condescending about it. Lots of cool car geeks come here and it's fun to hear them talk about racing with the staff. Makes me happy they all have a genuine interest in cars! 1) It takes for-freakin'-ever for work here. When we first moved to Austin it took them over *5* hours to do inspections on our two trucks. I know mine squeaked through with a fault that didn't let it pass when I lived in Vermont but I'm not complaining :) because I didn't have the cash to fix it when we moved here! My oil change took an hour to get done. Normally I'm in and out in a half hour at the dealer. They didn't seem that busy but who knows. I would recommend dropping your car off and going for lunch... and a hike... and then a nap... and then waiting in line to renew your license... then come back. 2) This is just a personal beef, and it's happened twice. I only care because I really, really love my truck and I take GREAT care of it. And I saved up a LONG time to be able to afford it. Both times I have seen mechanic who "test drove it" for inspection and after oil changes go FLYING out of the parking lot and FLYING back in. It really, really pissed me off. So, in true Katie style, I e-mailed the owners. Dan, Service Manager, got back to me within 24 hours. He even made a Ferris Bueller parking garage scene reference. I think I love this place. -3 star for my pissed off blip. +2 stars for the customer service and cleanliness of this shop. OH! And check in via Yelp! $15.00 off everything but inspections!

Just wanted to add to the good reviews on here. I found the guys at JC to be friendly and professional. The car was done when they said it would be, and the cost was what was quoted. Cost was also very competitive with other shops. I've had some less than stellar experiences with bigger name shops, but these guys know their stuff, and get it done in a very reasonable time.
