I was referred to JC Auto by the guys at Eagle Transmission (great place, as well) They had my car for almost 3 hours and had it up on the lift 3 times and they went through it with a fine tooth comb. They were taking things off to visually inspect these parts and plugging it up to this and that. Well, almost 3 hours later, they tell me what it wrong with it. Nothing major, it was the computer acting up. After being powered off and back on it started driving fine. I was told it would eventually need to be replaced and when that time came I could take it to them. For all this, they only charged me 45 bucks for the estimate of fixing it. Now that I have an honest assessment, I can weigh all options. I would recommend JC auto to anyone that does not want to get ripped off.

It's nice to have mechanics that just "get it right", and fire on all cylinders for your service. I have used John and Corky's in the past on various occasions related to routine service, major work, or just that odd sound that seemingly needed attention; EVERY time I visited them I got the best service they could offer. Most recently we had a suspect issue with the brakes on my wife's van, or that was the prompting from her dad, thanks for that marital hand grenade (lol); I did NOT feel there was an issue, but needed to ensure that the wife was comforted and I didn't seem bull headed on my opinion. She is very educated & smarter than the rest of us...but, in this area of knowledge I am the one with experience...How to resolve it? J&C of course! [Enter] J&C Automotive. [applause] We needed to have the van serviced anyways, and a "trip check" performed on it before our trip, so I included in the scheduled appointment for them to please check out the brake system for me. As expected, when I called ahead, J&C gave me an honest time frame of service and when to bring it in..it was an early Saturday.. they recommended Monday; and I did so, to best accommodate all of us. I brought the vehicle in early, explained the situation, and in an unbiased way they would look into the issue for BOTH of our needs (my wife & I) to resolve the quandary. As I was early, and had NO vehicle.. they easily provided the FREE shuttle service to get me back to work. The scheduled service went according to plan, and in the process they learned that there was nothing wrong with the brakes.. it was as simple as I thought, changing weather causes semi-metallic brakes to make noise. [husband smiles] At the time of pickup, they (as an unbiased professional) non-condescendingly explained the issue to my wife and she respected them for it. [wife delighted and relieved for saving money and for safety] It clarified the issue, diffused the marital hand grenade, and we BOTH knew that the issue was resolved. [husband and wife adoringly look at one another] [Exit J&C] AWESOME. I also need to add that the professionals at J&C always give you their best: from the counter attendants, the back staff, or the "grease monkeys" under the hood. On many occasions I have called for recommendations on parts, referrals on specialty services, or general auto "know how"; they always tell you what can/cannot be done, where to go, and what to do..even if it means that you can get it elsewhere (away from J&C). With that type of service, they build a loyal trusted customer base and my respect because it is about YOU and YOUR investment.. not about them and any of the profits. If you ever need a good vehicle service, maintenance, or repair stop in or call John and Corky's Automotice Specialist to fill your needs. If you need to diffuse an automotive "marital hand grenade"..lol... contact them, I am sure that they can do that also!

I just got my car inspected there this morning. It was quick and easy. I was in and out right away. I've found a new place to bring my cars and it's great that they're open on Saturdays!

What a great feeling to find a mechanic that you can trust. What an even better feeling when you're a female. Somehow it's the nature of the business to rip people off and women get the worst of it just because they can get away with it. JC Auto is so much better than that. First experience with them was so great. My husband took my car in and told them to call me with the info later. They were honest and up front about all the information. They explained what options I had and what they would cost as well as why. I could do a less expensive fix, ie. a rebuilt starter instead of a new one, and what that could entail down the road. The second visit was to replace an item that we thought needed it based on the car's mileage. The guys explained that it is not something that needs to be done on that particular car. Every time we take a vehicle there, the people are honest and upfront about what needs to be done and what doesn't. They do the work in a reasonable time frame. Just dropped of a car this morning and the place has lots of business but I am confident they will get it back to us tomorrow if possible.

We took our car here last week for a "check up" on some repairs we had done ourselves. No one in our house is in the least bit mechanically inclined, and these were emergency repairs done at night and the only instructions we had were suggestions from the people at an auto parts store. Since we are about to make a long drive, we thought it would be best to have a professional redo the repairs. We dropped our car off, and later received a call from the service technician telling us that they didn't see anything that needed fixing, and that our repair was sound. When we went to collect the car from the shop, there was NO CHARGE, not even for the labour/inspection. Most other auto repair shops would not only have charged us just to look at the car, but would have "found" that the repairs we made needed some sort of professional tweaking. Honesty in AUTO REPAIR? IT IS REAL! How incredibly refreshing! We're convinced: JC Automotive Specialist is the ONLY place we will go for repairs now. It is a great feeling having mechanics you can TRUST.

Just came back from visiting JC Auto Specialist. I was very impressed with their honesty and their kindness as far as customer service. I recently took my vehicle in to have my oil changed somewhere else and was told I was needing my transmission flushed. I thought that was odd since I haven't reached the 30,000 mileage mark. So I held off to see if I could get a second opinion. I'm pretty familiar with the basic maintenance that is needed on my car according to my manual. JC automotive took a look without any charge and said it looked great but recommended that I do have this done at 30,000 miles. I will in the future bring my business here for all my car maintenance needs and would recommend this auto shop to everyone.

I'm a Miata owner, and if you've got one of these, there is no better place to have it worked on. John is a master mechanic of the highest quality and Dan, the service manager, is a Miata expert. I also would not hesitate to take any of my other cars there either if they ever needed repairs. The expertise extends to top replacement too. They did a perfect install on new top for my Miata recently. No drama, just good work!

Dan, the service writer, and the guys at JC's know how to keep customers. I've been there three times, and I can't see taking my vehicles anywhere else. First trip was a dead starter. I had the car towed in, and went home. Less than 30 minutes and they were calling with a conformation and a quote. Hmmm... reasonable price. Okay. Two - three hours later they called and said the car was ready. Cool Beans. Second trip: over 100,000 miles and I knew that timing belt needed replacement so I took it in. I told Dan what I wanted, and he asked if I was hearing any noises or anything. I told him, "Nope... just regular maintenance stuff." He grinned and said, "Well, I'll replace it if you want me to, but you don't need to replace it." He then spent some time explaining to me that my car was different (timing chain vs. timing belt) and that there was no need to go digging around in my engine. I wonder how many mechanics would have done the work knowing it didn't need to be done, but that they could make some money. Third trip: Alignment. In-and-out in about an hour, and I liked Dan's demonstration of camber, toe, and caster using the maroon staplers. :) While I was there I listened to how they were treating their other customers over the phone and in the shop. They were professional, courteous, and always explained things pretty well. I'm convinced these guys know what they are doing and want to make relationships with their customers, not just make money. If you are anywhere near Round Rock take your car here for maintenance.

It is SO hard to find a good, honest, fast mechanic with great customer service. And JC Auto has it all. We took a chance on them shortly after moving to Round Rock (over 4 years ago), after reading the great reviews on Citysearch. And we've always been extremely happy. They don't overcharge. They don't tell you you need things done that you really could do without. They've often charged me nothing when no work was required (when they could have charged 50 bucks for just checking things out). They always clearly explain things and, no matter what the service is, they almost always have it done in the same day. And to top it off they now have loyal customer coupons on their website for $20 off your bill, which is so great with the cost of auto work and these tough financial times. We are lucky enough to live less than 10 minutes from them, but I would make the drive if I had to. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone...

I had taken my car to Jiffy Lube off Parmer and Mopac for an oil change and they had told me I needed to get my transmission fuel changed out as well. A few weeks later my car started acting up and became unable to be driven. I had it towed to JC Automotive Specialists and they diagnosed the problem right away. There was no fuel in my transmission tank so obviously Jiffy Lube had messed up somewhere. JC Automotive Specialists were very professional and not intimidating at all like some places can be. They don't charge you extra for things you don't need done to your car. They immediately diagnosed the problem and checked all the other aspects of my car to make sure nothing else was wrong. I had left my car there for them to inspect and they called frequently to keep me up to date on the status of my car. In the end, they charged about $50 for me to get my transmission tank filled with the correct fuel and for the labor where Jiffy Lube charged me $110 to change out my transmission fuel. I would definitely recommend JC Automotive Specialist to anyone looking for a reliable place with great pricing. I will definitely be bringing my car back to them for any other services.
